Occupational Therapy & Work Conditioning
When an injured worker is getting ready to return to work in a material handling position, usually after completing rehabilitation following a work related injury, he or she may be an excellent candidate for occupational therapy and work conditioning. Claims manager approval is required for participation in our program. Sometimes a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will make the recommendation to the claims manager, but patients can bring it up to either one.
Occupational Therapy is an extended work specific conditioning program that starts out with two hours of fitness training each day. The program progresses for 6 weeks, increasing in hours of exercise and work simulation each week until the worker can maintain an 8 hour day performing activities that exceed the demands of their job, enabling full unrestricted return to work.
Our success in returning people to work is excellent because the process of selection into the work conditioning program is key. If you believe you are a good candidate for Work Conditioning, please have your Claims Manager or Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor contact us today at (425) 643-9778.
