Weight Loss FAQs


How long does the testing take?

There are two tests, the RMR test occurs first thing in the morning and takes about an hour. The Aerobic test takes about an hour as well once you start. The various body composition tests take about a half hour to complete, so all in all we ask people to block about three hours for the testing.

Are there any special instructions?

Yes, the RMR test is a fasting test, so please do not eat or drink anything for 12 hours before the test. Do not drink any alcohol for two days before the test. The main thing is that you should not engage in any physical activity before the test. We prefer the test to occur first thing in the morning. Please do no more than get dressed before the test. When you get here we will put you in a darkened room and let your body achieve a rest state again before we test you.

What should I wear?

We would like you to wear comfortable clothing for the testing. The aerobic test is an exercise test, so appropriate exercise attire is required.

How much does it cost?

The testing is $400.00. This includes your test kit and the analysis as well as the presentation of the data to you. The fee includes both tests and the body composition analysis.

The long-term weight loss programming is difficult to price for each person, and therefore we do not quote prices on this program. Each person has a different program that includes all four elements and a variety of tools. We budget for long term program son the basis of losing one pound each week, and periodic retesting. The best thing to do is to schedule for a metabolic test, which will give us the data to be able to build a program for you that meets your goals and objectives.

What makes this program different from other weight loss programs?

The combination of applied exercise physiology, sports science, and nutrition science coupled with positive behavior modification strategies have proven to be very successful strategies.
